New Mobile Phone

I need to renew my service contract with my mobile phone carrier, Verizon, and I'd like to get a new phone that has Internet access so I can check my Gmail through it. Using a demo unit in the Verizon store in the local Circuit City I was able to check my e-mail using the WAP browser. I wasn't able to do this directly but had to use GMail Wireless to do this. The phone I did this on was a Motorola V710, which had a really nice screen and is the only current BlueTooth phone that Verizon has. I understand though that the Bluetooth has been seriously crippled by Verizon (why? Don't know) for some reason. I wish I lived in an area that I didn't need a tri-mode phone or could use a GSM phone, they seem to be more feature rich then the Verizon offerings. Since my location is in the "blank" area for any GSM phones, and I don't care for Nextel, I'll have to stick with Verizon for another 2 years.
