The new job status

So last Tuesday, September 6th, my 3 month probationary period at the new job passed. I really like the job and am busy all day long, which makes the day go fast, but some of it is stuff that I could delegate to a hardware tech. My boss mentioned to me about the possibility of hiring a hardware tech to take care of the basic stuff (new workstation installs, basic PC trouble-shooting, etc) and then have me move to a quasi-network admin/developer role. I grew tired of development for a while, but now that I've been away from it for three months I'm starting to miss it.
