Since I started using dual monitors at work in my office, I've found them quite useful. In my home office, which doesn't get much of a workout anymore, I have a external flat panel that was used when I would dock my laptop. So I found a Dell laptop stand, Dell wanted $50 but I found it on eBay for $12, and setup the laptop screen and external monitor for a dual monitor setup, sort of.
I'm using a Dell 600m notebook, with a Dell D/View notebook stand and a Dell UltraSharp 1905FP 19-inch flat panel for the second screen display.

Dual monitor setup - sort of
