The recommended hotel for my training was the Embassy Suites Hotel Phoenix-Biltmore. It's a very convenient location as the training center is right across the street. Next to the training center is an arcade (no not with video games) with shops and places to eat. It's a nice stroll through there. Up above on a second level is a 14 screen movie theater in case you want to get out of the sun.
Anyway, the hotel really, really nice. There are two rooms connected together, a sitting/dining/bar area with a fold out bed and a bedroom.
Looking out of our balcony from the hotel room we have a really nice view of some "mountains" (to us, hills to folks around here).
