BackupExec Resolution
I just closed the Symantec trouble-ticket for the issue where I was receiving "Final error: 0xe000fe34 - A checksum of the data has failed.". They told me it was a corrupt policy and to create a new one with new jobs based on the current selection lists. I did this and I'm now able to get the duplicate job to complete successfully.
Part of the "strangeness" of this problem is that the file used for the disk-to-disk backup was not the one used as the source for the duplicate job, it was a file from two days ago, the first day that the backup failed.
This is the third time I've had to create a new policy to replace the old. I'm not optimistic this is a permanent resolution, but I guess we'll have to wait and see.
