Using GPGMail plug-in, and selecting to digitally "sign" my messages with my public key, adds an email attachment with the file name "PGP.sig", which a few have found confusing. There is no option in the Preference pane in Mail.app to change this, however, you can adjust the filename by editing the GPGMail.strings file contained within the bundle. Here is how to do it:
- Quit Mail if running (⌘ + Q)
- Open the Finder
- Go to /~/Library/Mail/Bundles/GPGMail.mailbundle/Contents/Resources/English.lproj folder
- Open the GPGMail.strings file with TextEdit (need to right-click on the file, go to Open With, Other)
- Modify the "PGP_SIGNATURE_FILENAME" string to change the file attachment name for your signature (maybe your name). Note: There must be no spaces for the value, if you want to use your first name and last name, then use something like an "_" character
- Save the file
- Restart Mail.app
