One of our newer Dell Latitude laptops here at work keeps spontaneously restarting itself. I'm inclined to think that's it's hardware, as software should generate a STOP error with Windows XP, but in either case we needed to check. I remember talking to a Dell tech before about running a special diagnostic mode on Dell units, but couldn't remember the keystroke. Turns out that you just power off the laptop, then hold down the Function (Fn) key while you turn on the power, this will take you into the Dell PSA diagnostic mode.
