Hotplug CPU?

In the past I've heard of systems being able to "hot plug" a RAM chip, or a network card, meaning replacing the component while the system is still running. What about replacing a CPU while the system is running? Looks like you can, if your hardware supports it and you're running Red Hat Linux 5. This article describes how to do it. Wow.
