Forward Email on Exchange 2003 Server to External Address

I have a client that wants to have the email coming into their old company email server forwarded to their new companies Google Apps e-mail.  A little searching on the Internet turned up this article, which basically has you create a new Contact in Active Directory that has a mailbox, hide them from the Address Book, then alter the users object to forward mail to this new contact.
