I have an administrative share on the Windows network for the .NET 1.1 framework that is then installed on the corporate workstations and notebooks through a Group Policy Object (GPO) in my Active Directory. I found this web link that provides instructions on how to apply the .NET 1.1 SP1 as well as other hotfixes to that administrative share point to keep it up-to-date.
