Last Friday I was at work until 11:00pm installing an upgrade to our Finance departments accounting software. They use a product they refer to as Platinum, which I'm told was the name two different companies ago. Now it's Sage PFW.
The upgrade was suppose to be straight-forward, just follow the book. Turns out that two upgrades ago (about one a year) no one installed the, then optional database upgrade, but now required. Doing as I was told I followed the book exactly. Well that was one of the biggest problems as the book showed only select one of a number of modules to install.
Needless to say it took me four days of working with the company to realize I didn't install all of the components needed. So the whole problem was self-inflicted. Nice job Troy!

Software Upgrade Troubles
