Why I Love Virtualization

As mentioned earlier, I'm migrating our MS Exchange 2000 Server to MS Exchange 2003 Server. Since this can be a very "touchy'" product, I wanted to "practice" the upgrade without being destructive. Since I have my current Exchange 2000 Server and one of my Windows 2003 domain controllers virtualized, I just shutdown the machine, copied the virtual machine folder to my workstation, and then started the virtual machine with my VMware Workstation software. Doing this I've been able to practice all week on how to correctly migrate from the old server to the new server. With the use of a snapshot before I perform an action I can quickly revert back if something goes awry. I love this stuff!!!!
