Move iTunes data to new installation

Like moving my iPhoto '08 data, I wanted to move my iTunes data and retain my playlists, but most importantly my ratings, song count and "last played" time.  After some searching in Google I came across this page that detailed copying the old iTunes library to the new location to retain this information.  So this is what I did, using my complete system backup, and it worked perfectly (I have all of my iTunes data like song count and rating).
  1. Open iTunes on the new computer or new installation
  2. Should be presented with a blank iTunes library
  3. Quit iTunes (Command + Q)
  4. Open the Finder
  5. Open your Home folder (will probably have your name like johnsmith)
  6. Open your Music folder
  7. Delete the iTunes folder
  8. Connect your backup drive
  9. Open a new Finder window (Command + N)
  10. Open the backup drive
  11. Open the "Users" folder
  12. Open your username folder on the backup drive
  13. Open the "Music" folder
  14. Copy the iTunes folder to the Finder window of the new installation
  15. Open iTunes
