Car shopping
Par and I are shopping for a used car to replace her 1997 Pontiac Grand Prix. We've had REALLY good success with our 2001 Toyota Camry, so we wanted to stick with the Toyota brand. She wanted a SUV style, so we looked at the Highlander. Her main concern was room, for field service during the week pioneering, and engine power, so she wanted a V6.
After doing some research online, Toyota offers a Toyota Certified program on their used cars from Toyota dealerships. The car is covered up to 100,000 miles or 7 years, whichever comes first. The warranty covers 100% parts and labor as well! For me that takes the fear out of buying a used car, since I know very little about them!
So we test drove a few Highlanders and a Camry, both with V6 and then with a 4 cylinder. She was surprised that she detected very little difference. She also was surprised that, while she liked the Highlander, she thinks she wants a Camry now.
So we're currently keeping our eye out, using the Toyota Certified web site to search for cars, to replace hers.
